Holy Communion

If you and your family choose to take part in the Communion portion of our service, please follow these instructions. These words of Christ from Scripture are what makes Communion what it is, and so it’s very important that these words be included:

Read: Our Lord Jesus Christ, in the night in which He was betrayed, took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to His disciples, saying: “Take, eat, this is My body, which is given for you this do in remembrance of Me.” In the same manner he took the cup, when He had eaten, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, saying: “Drink of it, all of you; this cup is the New Testament in My blood which is shed for you, and for many, for the forgiveness of sins; this do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

Serve the bread to others, and yourself, saying each time: This is the body of Christ, given for you.

Serve the juice to others, and yourself, saying each time: This is the blood of Christ, shed for your sins.

If you have children in your home who have not been confirmed, this would be a good time to pray out loud for your children and ask God to bless them and grow them in the Lord.

When you are finished, you can read a verse that proclaims the forgiveness and mercy of God, or you can read this: Our crucified and risen Lord Jesus Christ, who now has bestowed upon you His holy body and blood (whereby He has made full satisfaction for all your sins), strengthen and preserve you in the one true faith unto everlasting life. Peace be with you…

Piano music will be playing during this time on the live stream, and after a few minutes, Pastor Ward will return to the video to close the service.
